Need An Encouraging Word?

Want to know you are not alone? Online resources that have helped me.

Grief is such a personal experience and no two people will grieve the same. I have written before about triggers. There are often little moments or memories that will put you right back into a sad, dark, seemingly hopeless place no matter how far you have progressed with your healing.

The following is a list of resources I have used for encouragement and healing throughout my grief journey.

  • Still Standing is an online resource that speaks to child loss specifically. You can also follow them on Facebook.
  • Another online resource is Fresh Life Church. I recommend anyone to search the story of Pastor Levi Lusko and his wife Jennie Lusko. They are pastors in Montana and lost their five year old daughter. They tell their story with authenticity and grace. The struggle is real. The questions are real. But so is God in the midst of it all.
  • A local news anchor, Stacey Skrysak, went through her invitro pregnancy on a public platform in 2013. The loss of two of their three triplets has also been lived in the public eye. Stacey has frequently spoken and written about her family’s grief journey, displaying the mixed emotions of grief at her loss and joy in their one surviving triplet’s thriving childhood. Check out her blog and find her on Facebook.
  • Another writer is Angie Smith. She is the wife of a Christian recording artist Todd Smith who is part of the group Selah. They carried their daughter through a pregnancy knowing she would likely not live long following her birth. Angie has written several books which you can find on Lifeway, Amazon, Walmart, and other retailers. The two I highly recommend are I Will Carry You and Mended.

I hope you all find something helpful in them. They are certainly not the only resources available on line but they are ones I have found helpful in my 11 year grief journey.

I receive no compensation or benefit from these recommendations.
